I just read some disturbing news here. They are saying that we may no longer see Generations on our screens very soon! Apparently the SABC can’t find the money to pay its outstanding bills for programmes which have already been delivered to the broadcaster. “South Africa’s most popular daily soap opera, Generations has debt of R9million. The last new episodes of Generations will be shown at the start of June, with no new episodes to follow,” says the article. The producers refuse to provide the SABC with any new video material until the broadcaster pays the outstanding debts
This is not the first time I have heard this and it looks like this is quite serious. What will be do without Our Soapie? The SABC has to make a plan soon so they can pay the producers of the shows. It is not only Generations that is being affected but other soapies such as 7de Laan and Isidingo could also be off the air soon!

I think its about time (SA’s) that we have change of interest and to accept it. I know change its a very scary thing but it will mean different atmosphere and diff taste. This will enable other script writers to have a change in life of drama and I know Mfundi has make his mark and left his legacy to you and i, and also we (people) need to express our (their) talents than to depend on one person. I also heard the same same thing Thabo, even Muvhango is also gonna be off but we can help it if only we can pay our TV licences like we are been asked to do so – so Gens Bloggers go out there and tell everyone to rush to their supermarkets, postoffices to have their tv licences paid that will save us our soapies.
