I am sure a lot of you remember Magda (real name Bathabile Mashigo) from Generations? She was part of the badge ladies that Khethiwe got together with to start the badge business and then she went on to date Khaphela. She was HIV positive in the storyline and she left Our Soapie with the storyline that she has moved to KZN to do some social work for HIV.

Magda has kindly agreed for us to ask her questions that you may want answers to from her. So please feel free to leave any questions you may have for Magda then we will send about 15 of the best to her and she can answer them for us and we will post them on Gens Blog.

I recently got the chance to ask Mfundo Mkhize some questions about Our Soapie. I am sure I lot of you know Mfundo now through the Coca-Cola adverts we have been seeing him direct on South Africa TV. I hope you enjoy his answers, do feel free to comment.

1 ) How did you feel when you saw yourself on TV for the first time in your Coca-Cola advert? Excited and weird the first time, but then embarrassed when watching with my friends because of all the laughter.

2 ) The fact that millions of people across the country get to see you almost every day on TV, how does that make you feel? You love me, you really really love me!!!!!, seriously its exciting and im having a blast

3 ) How long have you been watching Generations for? Not sure, ever since I used to watch it before V.Mash on jam ally, so Id say from the beginning

4 ) Who is your favorite actor / actress on the Soapie? My fav would have to be Sunny and Glen Majozi

5 ) You have gotten your first shot at directing a TV commercial, do you see yourself one day directing a soapie like Generations? No I prefer real set to studio work

6 ) With the current story line on Generations: Who do you think Senzo’s mother is? All im going to say is sis! LOL!

7 ) If Mfundo Vundla said you could direct one episode of Generations, what storyline would you change? I’d make Khaphela evil and team up with Kenith, and make Karabo pregnant with Sbusisos child. I would certainly get Queen a man.

8 ) If you could take one actor / actress from Generation to be on your commercial who would you pick and what would you have them do on the commercial? Ktlego Danke (Dineo), I would put her next to the directors chair and then…..

9 ) Which one ex-Generations actor / actress would you love to see come back onto the Soapie? I would really love to see Grace again

10 ) As a director, what is one thing you would want to see changed in order to make South Africa’s soap opera’s better? More lighting and variation on sets as well as living dynamic, I also feel that some of the sets don’t relate to some of the characters.
